Snowman (2020)

Quick snowman scene for a Christmas Card for 2020. Modeled in Maya and Rendered in Renderman with textures painted in Substance.

Car (2017)

For this project, I wanted to shade a car model (downloaded from the Renderman website) and model and shade a small scene to showcase it on. The ground was sculpted in Mudbox, where I baked a vector displacement map which was then used to displace a low-res mesh. I then scattered rocks onto it using a simple simulation in Maya and created the grass using PaintFX. The car was painted in Mari, Photoshop, and Mudbox, and I used projections in Renderman for some of the textures.

3d Printed Self Portrait 2016

This is a self portrait I sculpted in zbrush and then 3d printed and mounted. The bust is protruding from a tree which represents mans connection with nature.

3d Printed Bust 2016

This piece also reflects on how man came from nature. The bust is emerging from hibiscus.

Deer Girl (2019)

This deer character was sculpted by my friend Caleb Kicklighter. I used my girlfriend as inspiration and modeled the clothes based off of one of her outfits. I used XGen for the groom and painted the textures in Mudbox because it supports ptex and is generally easy to use. I modeled the clothes and remodeled part of the eyes.

Trashwhale (2016)

Trashwhale was my project from the Viz Lab summer industry course we did with DreamWorks. That was a rough summer. The class takes place over the course of 10 weeks. We had 4 people on our group and we were tasked with making a 20 second short film without a character. I grew up in South Florida where I went to the beach a lot and always got upset about the garbage that would wash up on shore, so this topic is near and dear to my heart. My jobs on the team included art direction, technical direction, modeling, lighting, shading, and compositing. You have to wear a lot of hats when there are only 4 of you. The scope of the project was also very large. We had over 40 - 50 assets to models and shade so I made a procedural shader that put algae on everything.

Utah Teapot

I had the idea a few years ago to do a series of Utah tea pots as if they were different materials. This material was inspired by meteorites. The teapot was modeled in ZBrush and surfaced in Renderman.
